What is A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)?
A qualified professional providing recreational services to improve the well-being of individuals who have illnesses or disabilities through treatment services and recreation activities.
Recreational Therapists treat individuals by assisting, guiding, maintaining physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing to minimize symptoms of depression, stress, and anxiety, while building confidence and increasing socialization and self-esteem to maintain a balanced lifestyle to enhance the quality of life.
A Certified Recreational Therapist demonstrates professional competence by acquiring a specific body of knowledge and passing the NCTRC exam.
